Lab infrastructure#
The institute has deployed modern NComputing thin-client devices to keep pace with current trends in computing. The lab configuration includes:
- 30 L230 virtual-desktop thin clients, networked
- A Linux server (Ubuntu) running on IBM X3400 M3 hardware with 12 GB RAM and 500 GB storage
- USB mice and keyboards as peripheral devices
- Installed software: MySQL Server, Apache, LibreOffice, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Eclipse (Java / Android)
Campus IT and Wi-Fi#
Recognising the central role of IT in education and research, the institute has established a campus-wide computer laboratory with high-speed internet that is accessible to all students. All machines are networked, run modern software, and connect over high-speed links.
The entire campus is covered by 24-hour Wi-Fi, with the aim of supporting both modern teaching styles and rapid information access for students.
