Around 12,000 books, journals, and digital resources — open 12 hours a day.
A learning, research and reference centre#
VCL has a fully computerised library with around 12,000 books, supporting both teaching and independent research. Students have access to course books, reference works, magazines, journals, and newspapers — open 12 hours a day.
The library is rich in resources for learning, research, and general awareness. It is spacious and comfortable, allowing students to spend long hours in focused study, with designated silent areas as well as group-work spaces.
Books and journals#
The collection includes works by Indian and international authors across law and allied disciplines. Beyond textbooks, the library carries:
- More than 100 national and international journals
- A regular intake of magazines, periodicals, newspapers, and bulletins of world repute
- An extensive collection of educational CD-ROMs and video material
Subject-area experts are available in the library to give students focused guidance and recommendations.
Integrated Library Management System#
The library is managed through Libsys, an integrated library management system. The full catalogue is available on the campus intranet, and the manual issue/return process has been replaced with a fully computerised system. Each student is issued a library card that doubles as their identity card.
